Singers from across the Southeast come to Atlanta for in-person coachings that reflect the standards of major European opera houses.

The work is direct and uncompromising: clarity in the score, authority in style, precision in language, and the discipline to sustain a role from first rehearsal to final performance.

    The Atlanta studio translates this background into concentrated, high-level work with a small number of singers.

  • This studio is intended for singers at an advanced level who are ready to work with professional expectations:

    • Opera singers preparing roles, house auditions, or competitions

    • Young artists and emerging professionals refining core audition repertoire

    • Conservatory and university singers preparing recitals, juries, and entrance examinations

    This is not an introductory program. A solid technical foundation is assumed; the focus is on bringing repertoire to a professional rehearsal-room standard.

  • The repertoire spans the central operatic and concert literature — from Mozart to Wagner’s Ring — always approached from the perspective of professional practice.

    Typical areas of work include:

    • Role preparation, from first read-through to complete run-through

    • Audition packages that make musical and stylistic sense as a whole

    • Language and style in German, Italian, French, and English repertoire

    • Structural and dramaturgical understanding of scores, suitable for rehearsal with conductor and director

    Each session is built around the score, the text, and the concrete situation for which you are preparing.

  • The number of singers accepted into the studio is deliberately limited. Coachings are by appointment only and take place in person in Atlanta.

    To be considered, singers are asked to submit:

    • A short description of current goals (role, audition, competition, examination)

    • A brief repertoire overview

    • A recent recording or link

    Fees and availability are discussed individually after the inquiry has been reviewed.
